Power carving at the space?

I’m interested in trying out some power carving of some wood, with an angle grinder and something like one of these shaping disks. However, I know these create tremendous amounts of dust and debris, and I want to be conscientious of other people and projects at the space.

Do we have any policies about this sort of thing? Perhaps it could be done in the former autobay, or maybe right outside the garage door in the parking lot, as long as all of the sawdust is swept up? Maybe it shouldn’t be done at the space at all, I just don’t have a great place to do it at home so I wanted to check in here.

In the past, I’ve directed people outside the Autobay with the door closed. That kind of shaping is highly effective, but creates a very large mess that is hard to contain. This isnt something that should be done in the shop.
Thanks for asking ahead of time.

Overall I would discourage this at the shop at all. It trashes the immediate area, and the car owners around you won’t appreciate it.

Thanks for the confirmation, I suspected as much. I’ll find somewhere else to play around with this

Only after seeing this did I appreciate what power carving was.
