Don’t want to be that guy but someone planed a whole bunch and never turned on dust collector. Went to use the planer and when i powered it up was greeted with a confettie barrage of wood chips. Dust collection hose was clogged and machine was packed with wood chips. Took me 20 minutes to clean and sweep up the mess. Didnt have time to complete my task on the planer. Seems like lately i have to spend time cleaning up other peoples messes. If you finish with a machine it is your responsibility to clean up your mess. Not only it is courteous but its also a safety issue. Manage your time in the woodshop to include cleaning up machines or work areas. Okay, im done with my rant!
Thank You,
Mom

At this point, I want to put a game camera on the jointer and see what wild animal is gnawing full trees. Termites? A squad of beavers? The mind boggles.

We are beginning to suspect that the dust collector is not pulling strongly enough right now for some reason. It really seems unlikely that people would forget the DC so many times.
