Howdy tinkerers!
As mentioned in the previous meeting’s plan, we’re just going to continue down the path we started on last month. I will bring in the little demo wall for seeing basic home electrical circuits in action, this time all decked out with typical non-smart wiring (including the dreaded “missing neutral” case). We will go over how to replace the dumb switches & dimmers with smart (Z-wave) versions. We also will fire up a new Home Assistant Green box and Z-wave antenna, and try adding our smart switches to be controllable from it, using our phones. It’s always fun discussing the various devils in the details we encounter along the way, so who knows how far we’ll get!
