Planer working?

I was at the shop last night and I and two other members ran into issues with the planer–specifically the wood jamming in the machines and it no longer planing overall.

I was hoping to use it this afternoon so I wanted to check and see if someone had had a chance to look at it. Thanks!

Depending on the wood and the condition of the planer, it could be as simple as waxing the bed. I’ve had times when I was trying to force my material through with no luck, but put some wax on, and it was good to go. It’s worth a shot to keep from losing production.

Thanks @jamesfreeman! I’ll give it a try when I go in today. Where is the wax located in the shop?

I was watching someone use it today and there didn’t seem to be any issue. That said, someone else has written in a problem report on this a few days ago as well. I’ll wax up the bed right now to help rule that out. We keep a can in the stewards closet. I’m I’m around when you’re here, I’ll stop by and see how things are going.

I had a piece of maple that was not feeding through the left side of the planer recently. I noticed the underside of the leading edge was catching on the out feed and peeling back some wood fibers.
