Hi, new member here! I just joined yesterday, took the small lasers class a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t quite get things rolling today. I spent 3 hours trying to get something to cut (LOL). I’m using acrylic. Just wondering if I could meet someone here to get a few tips one day.

Pearl is red tagged and not working. So that could be your problem. Are you sure you were not on Blue?

I know the first time using a laser can be frustrating, but if you have an idea where you specifically need help or guidance post it. More than likely someone has had that same issue.

I think I’m just having a problem with the steps and getting it to actually cut. When it first started it was engraving so I figured out how to get it to stop doing that. But I could not figure out how to get it to go through my actual acrylics. I didn’t know what settings I needed to change to make that happen. I guess my notes weren’t thorough enough from the class that I took so maybe just trying to get it to actually cut all the way through… I’m not actually designing a career job rather than just dropping my SVG file in in there and just trying to cut it out. I’m using 1/8 in material
Are your lines hairline thin and on that one sometimes helps if you switch the color to red. If the machine was just beeping and not doing nothing, probably this is your problem.
Yes, I did that. I only really clicked on the black color any played with the speed and power in the settings before hitting print.
I very quickly tested Blue and confirmed it was working. So there could be a problem with your design or printer settings. I did notice some difficulty in adjusting the z axis but it did not stop me from being able to fire. @Jordanva2 may have additional insight. If you see my name on the schedule flag me down and we can take a look.
