November CNC SIG Recap

All,

This is the recap of the CNC SIG Meeting early this November that had a large group of folks showing off their stuff! Can’t wait to see what they bring to the Maker Market this weekend! I’d recommend you guys go and check it out! The recorded session is at the end of the post.

And to all of you who are looking into experimenting with a larger format CNC router, @jamesfreeman sent me this (and @TravisGood was the first person to point this out): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/maslow4/maslow41-accessible-large-format-cnc-router

Now, onto the meeting!

@Christopher first shared with us his Nautilis shell

@bwatt then shared with us how he used ChatGPT, or his dumb best friend, to write g-code and figure out how to best design a 3D printed project he’d been working on.

James shared with us a heart he’d been designing and he went out the bits he used to create it. So, it is true–James DOES have a heart!

Travis shared with us an inlay he built for this stunning cutting board! He bought the cutting board here: WoodRiver Cheese Slicer Kit | Woodcraft

Steve then shared with us his jig he uses to build antique sewing machine boxes. He’s made over 600 boxes!

And finally, @SteveW shared with us a little preview of what the Maker Market is going to look like this weekend:

It was great seeing everyone and I hope to hear about all the adventure and excitement at the Maker Market this weekend!

Until next time, or the first Sunday in December, I’ll CNC-you then!
