Our new heat press is ready for use! We’ve recently acquired a Geo Knight swing away press which is now ready in textiles. The first 4.5 minutes of this video give a reasonable explanation of the basic operation
A few things to be aware of:
-
Power button is in a weird place. It is hiding on the bottom, and can be found in the labeled position in the picture.
-
It’s a very tall machine, so those of us who are short might have a hard time seeing the screen. Bill is going to build us a platform to use.
-
When the machine is not in use, it should be kept open.
-
Pressing size is 14" x 16" - so similar but not identical to the old press
-
Swinging action is to the right. There is enough clearance so that it can swing 180 degrees away to the wall.
The old press:
Our older heat press is still with us, and does function. There is a low temperature spot on the left hand side. There is a blue tape label to remind folks. You are welcome to use it if it meets your needs
We also now have a hat press, which is an add on accessory to the new swing away press. I have not used it yet, but will give an update with instructions as I learn more
