New Scrap Cart Design

Robert @Rolo and I have been discussing modifying or outright changing our current scrap cart to make it both more user friendly and to better our space needs (size and capacity).

Steve @sknodl added a picture of the one he designed and built for his personal wood shop and is right in line with what Robert & I were thinking.

I’d like to get your thoughts on a design and what you would like to see.

Additionally, your thoughts on how to organize the wood. My current thought is to divide up the space into 3 slots: Hardwood & exotics, dimensional lumber, and smaller sheet goods. And use the opposite side for larger sheet goods and the ends for dowels.

Once we conclude the design, we want to recruit a team of volunteers to help build it.

I think this design would work well (especially if we can add a bucket :slight_smile: )

I’ve been sorting the scrap bin as I walk past it recently. I think better visibility of the pieces helps people use the scrap faster. The proposed design will stop smaller pieces from falling over and laying on the bottom which is the current problem.
