New member available to volunteer

Hi Folks, I’m a new member to ASMBLY and would love to jump in on some 3D printing projects this week, but I haven’t found a new member orientation with open seats. Is there any way I can barter some volunteer hours in exchange for a private orientation or being added to the Weds June 3rd Orientation and Facility Tour? Sorry to be so forward, but I’ve got a lot of free time this week and I’m eager to make some progress on a project. Thanks for considering!
If not, I’ll cya at Oddwood on Weds night.

Hey Ryan, welcome to Asmbly! I remember how excited I was to join once I learned they had 3D printers here.

I’ll ping @Sid into this conversation to ask whether private orientations are offered or if you can join a maxed-out session. Heads up, though: the next orientation overlaps with our monthly social night. If you’re interested, I’d skip the orientation this round and come to the social night instead, where you can meet and hang out with some of our members. Hope you get the help you need! :blush:

Have you already taken the Asmbly | Intro to Filament 3D Printing or Asmbly | Intro to Resin 3D Printing class? If not, you’ll also want to talk with @Tagogi (filament) or @OctopusDream (resin) for a checkout.

Hi Ryan,

You are welcome to attend the Orientation on Wednesday, but Aneel is right that you’ll need to take a class or a checkout before you can use the 3D printers.

Taylor happens to have a filament class tomorrow. It’s full, but you can join the waitlist from the class page. You can also request checkout sessions from there. @JasonSoll @AJStow

Yes I’d definitely like to join the Wednesday Orientation class 6-7:30PM with Michael Dixon. I’ll be there, then hit up Oddwood afterward.

Also crossing my fingers on the Tuesday Filament class with @tagogi. I’m actively monitoring the waitlist, and will be hanging out at ASMBLY in case I can be squoze in. I’ll bring 3D-baked cookies. :saluting_face:
