New Facilities Coordinator: Sarah Martin!

We are thrilled to welcome @sarahmartin to the Asmbly staff as our new Facilities Coordinator (FC)! This is a critical part-time position reporting to the Facilities Manager.

The Facilities Coordinator helps Asmbly ensure that facilities and tools are properly maintained and that the organization’s mission is achieved. This role functions as a force multiplier, focusing on maintaining physical operations efficiently through effective delegation, prioritizing ensuring tasks are completed, not necessarily performing them personally each time.

Sarah’s background involves projects and work spanning maintenance, non-profits, and grant writing. While working part time here, she’s also working at a furniture upholstery shop nearby!

As FC, Sarah will directly assist with problem reports, provide assistance to all shop areas, as well as general facilities tasks.

When approaching Sarah, please be courteous of her time and immediate tasks. Except in emergency cases, please ask if she is on Asmbly time or working on personal projects. We also remind all members that upkeep and care for the facility is your responsibility. Every member is expected to clean up after themselves plus some additional effort to maintain a clean communal space. Sarah’s role is to manage and enforce these standards, not to perform routine cleaning for everyone.

As everyone knows, keeping up with tasks in Asmbly can be challenging! Please help us by continuing to scan the problem report codes. And if you feel like earning some volunteer hours to help the Facilities team out, please reach out to become a steward!

Please give Sarah Martin a big welcome as she steps into this crucial staff role!

Welcome aboard Sarah! I’ve already had some great experiences working with Sarah, and I just love she always has a smile on her face. She’s not afraid to get dirty, or share that dirt (wink wink Sarah) and jump in no matter what is required.
