New Class: Woodworking - Make a Groovy Cutting Board

I’m excited to announce one of our newest classes: Woodworking - Make a Groovy Cutting Board. Cutting boards are a great way to learn and practice woodworking techniques, so we are beyond excited to be adding two different cutting board classes to our roster this month! Both classes will be amazing ways to practice woodworking skills, but have different designs and different focuses. Keep an eye out for the second of the two being posted soon!) The first of these is an beginner - intermediate cutting board class built around the fabulous and popular design by our very own @drew.hynes.

This three hour class will walk students through the three day process of making curved-checkerboard cutting boards. Making this board will use a variety of tools in the woodshop and introduce a fairly niche technique to make curved joints on the cutting board using the bandsaw. With a little movie magic, the class fits a three day process into just three hours. Come hone your woodworking skills while making something beautiful!

  • Trim boards on the table saw, using both rip-cuts and cross-cuts

  • Glue and clamp boards together

  • Round-over edges on the router table
