I’ve ordered new filters for the Laguna Swift CNC dust collector.
For those curious, they are Wynn 35B222 Nano Filter.
After installing I ran my anemometer to check airspeed right by the CNC cutter head and clocked 7025 Ft/min. This is about an 11.2% increase from the previous filters, reading at 6317 Ft/min.
Truthfully, I was expecting the difference to be much higher and was already preparing on tossing the old filters out. Since this isn’t the case, we’ll save these as backups in case we need to quickly swap any out.
This is a great indicator that if we keep tabs on the filter then it will last a very long time. This includes airing it out every few weeks to ensure the fine particles fall to the bag as well as a deep clean every few months.
For those that use the CNC often and when the DC is off, consider taking the air hose over to the filters and giving them a spray to help out.
