*NEW* Automatic Dust Collector Control

Starting this Saturday, the dust collector will be automatically controlled. When you use a tool the dust collector will start automatically. It will also stop automatically! I think this will be a nice convienence for woodshop users. I also hope it will prevent some of the dust port clogs, by always making sure dust collection is on when it needs to be.

Even with the automatic control, it is still incumbent on all woodshop users to make sure the dust collector is on!

Notes:
When the dust collector is off, please turn on your tool, and then give a 10 second pause for the dust collector to spin up before using the tool.

  • When changing the dust bin:
    • Please make sure other users are aware and do not use any tools.
    • Turn the switch on the yellow box on the dust collector to “off” instead of “auto”.
    • Return the mode to “auto” after the bin has been emptied.
  • The control is programmed to remain on for 8 minutes after all tools are shut off. The prevents a lot of starts and stops.
  • The 4" dust sweep is a manual port and will not trigger the DC automatically. Trigger any tool to give yourself 8 minutes of runtime if you need to.
  • Avoid using the Dust collector on/off switch
