We performed most of the metal lathe move during the workday today but we ran out of time to finish it, so the metal lathe will be offline, most likely until sometime Monday.
In addition, the lathe was left on the moving skates, so for safety reasons the auxiliary room (aka the back room, metal shop annex, etc.) is strictly off limits except for authorized people until further notice.
The lathe is back on solid ground in its final position in the auxiliary room and has temporary power. And the coolant circulator is working again! So the red tag is removed from it.
There are a few things around it still in flux, but the main note is that we have not re-leveled it yet. Also, the backsplash is off and will need to go back on before cutting fluid can be used. (It’s just 4 screws if you need to put it on, but I’m leaving it off for now pending some cleaning.)
