Hi everyone,
The board recently voted to approve four new policies to help modernize our policy landscape:
- Equal Opportunity Policy
- Ethical Fundraising Guidelines
- Gift Acceptance Policy
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Policy
While these policies largely focus on the board and staff rather than member rules, we believe in providing regular updates to keep you informed.
Adopting this “policy stack” is standard good governance for a nonprofit. It also makes us more competitive when applying for grants, which helps ensure the long-term sustainability of the space. The Board believes the new policies are a natural extension of Asmbly’s core values.
You’ll notice an new categorization called “Board Policy.” The categorization is designed to handle high-level governance, tone setting, and vision interpretation rather than day-to-day shop operations.
