Our Prusa MK3S+ printers have had Revo hotends for quite some time. One of the benefits of the Revo system is that it allows quick nozzle changes. In the past, Asmbly has not allowed users to change nozzles, but we’re changing our policy. There are a couple of new rules:
- You must demonstrate to a 3D Printing volunteer that you know how to swap nozzles
- You must return the printer to its normal state after your print:
- You must book the printer for long enough to pick up your print and swap the nozzle back
- You must swap back to Asmbly’s ObXidian nozzle
- You must do a test print to ensure that the first layer is calibrated
Since Asmbly’s nozzles are suitable for high temperature and abrasive materials, the main reason we expect people will want to swap nozzles is to change the nozzle size. 0.25mm nozzles can let you get finer detail (at the cost of much slower prints). Larger nozzles can improve speed and strength, and might be required for certain types of filaments.
