Mitre sawing multiple dowels at once

For my cat wheel project, the tutorial suggests I tape together and cut up to 5 wood dowels (3/4" diameter) at the same time on the mitre saw.

  1. Is it cool if I do this with our mitre saw? I can do them one at a time if need be but guessing that will take a lot longer (see NB below)?
  2. Can I use the stock blade on the mitre saw, or do I need to buy and bring my own to ensure clean, square cuts?

NB: I have 9 3/4" dowels from Home Depot that I need to cut into 360 1-foot lengths, so I’d rather not do them one at a time.

The blade was just changed out this past week!

Taping or clamping pieces together is a good way for a few consistent pieces. Just make sure things are stable and held down well via jigs clamps or a strong grip.

If you’re about to make a cut and it doesn’t feel right, stop and adjust.
