Opportunity to create art/sign/mural/ other ideas you have/ for a community garden:

You will get to work with Kaboom! (playground equity focus) Austin Parks and Recreation and a local Community Garden (about a mile from Asmbly). Kaboom is hosting a community breakfast event for interested folks this Saturday August 1st at North Oaks Park. Register here:

After the event at North Oaks Park they will tour Asmbly at 1:00 pm this Saturday, August 1st. They are super excited about seeing the space, talking to makers and seeking interest for artist partnerships for their upcoming local project to be installed in October 2026.

The community garden is in need of signage and has a shed that has availability for a mural. Kaboom! would love to partner with Asmbly or Artists at Asmbly and is able to provide stipends for artists work and time.

it may be “cheating”, but VR headsets can now be used to help paint murals.

you work in passthrough, align a graphic file with the wall, and it will project it onto the surface virtually. then you just use real brushes to paint through the projection onto the real surface
