Welder 1 needs more mig wire. Welder 2 needs a new ground clamp due to it melting off. Grinding buffing wheel needs replaced and idk if the cold saw blade needs replaced but it is cutting as well.
1 While reporting problems here is acceptable, it is still much preferable to use the reporting form accessible via the red QR codes in the shop.
2 I improvised a repair on the grounding clamp in bay 2, and a welding steward will follow up on that and the MIG spool in welder #1 shortly.
3 The cold saw blade was switched out just over two weeks ago. They usually last at least a month. I used it this morning and it seemed to cut fine, maybe a bit slowly. Just take the cuts more slowly and it should be fine.
4 Grinding buffing wheel? We have no such thing in our shop.
The deburring wheel — which is not to be used for grinding or buffing (which is clearly stated on the accompanying sign and taught in metal shop safety class) — is indeed wearing very low. This was intentional; I was trying to get all the life I could out of it, because they are quite expensive.
I had expected it to last another week or two. I saw this morning that it had indeed been worn the rest of the way down. Apparently someone did improperly use it for grinding and wore it down all in one go. I know this because they didn’t even bother to clean up the dust on the floor from the wheel. At least that will make it easier to find the culprit when I check the video.
A new wheel has been put on.
