Just a friendly reminder that we have a metal detection wand in the shop hanging of the side of the table saws. Good idea to check any material you are salvaging and planning on running through one of the powered tools to make sure there are no metal surprises. Reclaimed material setting off the SawStop will make that free wood a lot more expensive when you have to pay for a new brake and blade!

Another reminder, test the detector before use. Don’t assume it works automatically. The one pictured is left on often and the battery runs out. It has two settings: vibrating abd beeping sound. Test away from metal materials. If it does not turn on, the 9 volt battery at the butt of the handle needs to be replaced. Batteries should be in the storage closet.
