Does anyone know where the manual edge finder for the manual CNC(s) went? Last time I was in the shop I wasn’t able to find it.

I think it was used so rarely that they stopped keeping it in the kit.
If you need one, you can borrow one from the milling machine bench. It’s the black Husky desk in front of the Rong Fu Mill; the edge finder will be in the drawer in the small plastic bin marked “Important Tools”. Please return it there as soon as possible.

Another reason the edge finder isn’t used much on the CNC is that we’ve been cutting the dog holes at fixed absolute coordinates. If your piece has a square corner with sides up against the bench dogs, the corner is at the absolute coordinate posted on the back of the controller. Just home the machine, zero x and y, then go to those coordinates, zero x and y again, and your origin will be at the corner of your piece.
