Please don’t leave on for more than a few minutes. It will melt!
In the spirit of full disclosure, I ordered a custom PCB for my electronics chip and had it mostly pick-and-placed. A few components were soldered on at the end (thanks Steve!). If that seems to you like cheating, don’t vote for it!

Hold the chips up to the light, most are translucent. Laser chip spins to adjust the interference pattern, but maybe only a couple times

When you go to remove your stirring stick from a cup with some leftover epoxy, sometimes you get a fun surprise!
Entry #16
Kenneth Brugger
Single Chip: Metal Shop
This was a fun contest! I ran out of time due to life happening but it was still a great way to connect and chat with members about a shared project. I saw a really nice looking watch face right around when the chip contest started and wanted to try and replicate it in metal. For this chip, I planned on adding some asmbly related engraving and a personal maker’s mark style thing on the back, but scratching the title of “oops” on the back with a carbide scribe is totally my vibe too, so I’m happy with it.
Voting!
I strongly recommend seeing these in person, because photos don’t do them justice. They’ll be set up in the MPR for two weeks (until Friday, October 17th) and voting will be open for the same period (until 23:59 on October 16th, Austin Time).
Cast your votes here: Voting Form
You do not need an active Asmbly membership to vote! The whole community is welcome.
