Hey Hackers,

Here to give you another - much shorter - update from our meeting this week. One thing you are noticing right off the bat is something new we are trying — testing out Mailchimp as a new mode of communicating with the atxhs-announce list.

We’ll be doing some experimenting around this and are happy to receive any feedback you have for us on this!

Remember you can always reach out to us via board@atxhs.org (public post) or board-private@atxhs.org (private).

ATXHS EVENTS

Workshop Show & Tell
Tentatively Saturday 4/11
We’re hoping to have a member event tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 4/11) if people are interested. Kye posted a thread - [atxhs-members] Do you love your workshop? Do you want to see other people’s? - about this. Please respond there and let us know if you are interested in attending and what time would work for you!

All Things Hacked
Tuesday 4/14 7:30 pm
Rob and Kye will be recounting the history of ATX Hackerspace and nuggets of knowledge they’ve discovered from the many other makerspaces they have visited. They will also be discussing The Hacker Crackdown by Bruce Sterling. Zoom link will be sent out via atxhs-members Tuesday afternoon.

Update to current ATX Hackerspace usage policy:

ATX Hackerspace had been allowing one individual - Joe Ngo who has been leading the ATXHS COVID Responders - to have access to the space to maximize PPE production. At our board meeting this week in discussion with Joe, we voted to expand our current policy to allow a maximum of 3 members to use the space at a time exclusively for the production of PPE and other COVID response needs . Members must be in separate areas of the space, e.g. one member in the sewing loft, one in the shop, and one in the laser/3D printer area. Join the ATXHS COVID Discussion group for updates and information on how to sign up for time https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/atxhs-covid-discussion.

We are continuing discussions around the use of the space every week and have a special committee of members working with us to look through ways we can safely and legally extend access, as well as when it would be appropriate to do so.
