Looking for help fixing a stereo receiver

Hi all,

My name is Daniel. I’m new to Asmbly and was looking to dabble a little bit in the electronics area. I have an old 1979 Yamaha CR-240 stereo receiver that used to work, but it has no output all of a sudden.

I know basic electronics, and I’m looking for someone that would be willing to help me diagnose and fix the problem. I’m looking for this to be a learning experience as I want to dive deeper into electronics as a whole and think this would be a fun and beneficial project to work on.

Hey Daniel, welcome! We have a bunch of equipment in our lab that ought to be really helpful in diagnosing the issue.

It sounds like a fun project — I can’t say that audio equipment is my area of expertise, but there are a few others around who would probably love to help out and share their knowledge. I’ll ask around and see who might up for the challenge!
