Long Print on Hermes over night (ETC 0800, Aug 24)

I will be back in the morning to collect.
thanks
christopher

I’m afraid when I was in there about 10:30 pm, there was a beeping coming from Hermes, and no other activity. It probably failed somehow. (I don’t know much about the 3D printers.)

Thanks @mgmoore
Appreciate the notice. I’ll take care of it shortly.

Hello @christoph_lewis, just got in and Hermes was also beeping. Requesting a button press to preheat nozzle. Did that then it asked to eject filament and reinsert. So from what I can tell, your print is about 7% done (from what the screen on Hermes states).

Thank you @Victor !
It seems I accidentally set up for a color changes when i sliced it… ugh. I’ll try to see it through today.

Apologies to everyone that had to endure the annoying beep yesterday/today!
Print should be good to go now and complete around midnight.

I’ll be here early tomorrow (Aug 25) to pick it up.

What you printing? You seem to do a lot of long prints!

Hi Hanna,
Thanks for asking. I’m building a housing/enclosure for a personal water purification device. I’m mostly performing iterations after quick mechanical tests (and fails), adjusting part dimensions and shapes for more robust fits. However, I’m also learning that 3D printability is critical (where supports go) and incorporating this into design as well.

In a few cases I’m printing multiple parts at once. This has led to some of the longer prints. I try to avoid that if possible.

I’m hoping this aspect of product dev will slow in the next couple months. Then I’ll move on the electronics lab and soak up a bunch of time in that room. :stuck_out_tongue:

Then maybe run some preliminary wet tests on the Aquaponics system! (just kidding)
