This task will help a legacy of novice laser users go from “took the class” to “am a confident operator”. One of the most common traps and source of heartache is to find that through some catastrophe of fate, the power user “make things awesome” checkbox – y’know, the one that enables the novice user’s “ruin my work” feature – has been checked. And on those rocky shoals many a eager maker’s dreams have crashed.
Here’s the ask:
Take screenshots/photos of the following; print them in color and affix them to the wall or manual as your judgement informs:
- the control panel on Dorian when adjusting Z-height
- the control panel on Dorian when in normal mode
- For Dorian: the full settings screen for a layer in Lightburn, as configured for cutting 3mm baltic birch and with all recommended defaults carefully double checked.
- For Tarkin: the full settings screen for a layer in Lightburn, as configured for cutting 3mm baltic birch and with all recommended defaults carefully double checked.
- Any other such screens in the laser process where a novice user might become totally baffled.
