Laguna IQ z sensor issues

I slammed a bit into the z sensor last night because I didn’t notice the sensor was unplugged.

Are stewards aware that the connection on that sensor is loose? Is there any plan or appetite for fixing that?

Is the loose connection on the puck or at the gantry?

It’s the puck’s connection on the spindle/gantry end. The puck is wired to be removable via a male/female connector, but that socket is very loose.

When I investigated why the sensor failed I found the male end of the connector wrapped up in the cable chain on the back side of the gantry. I’m guessing normal gantry movement snagged the cable and pulled the connector loose.

A well placed zip tie might “fix it.”

I think the cable.has stretched enough that it’s sagging and gets caught in the cable chain. Probably time to replace the cord, and expand the clip that plugs into the gantry.

I’ve never used the puck to set Z height on Big or Small CNC. I have used the paper method. But now I shine a light from behind the bit and look at the shadow it casts on the material. The gap becomes much more obvious.
