Its royalty, the small CNC, has a new puckster

This afternoon I rebuilt the small CNC’s puck with the old aluminum puck that was on the large CNC and a new coiled cable and connections. Internal to the controller I have set the puck thickness to 15.1 mm. I tested cable continuity and ran a Z Toolset and all seemed to work well.

Thanks, @bwatt !

Thanks Brian! I used the small CNC this morning and the new puck made a huge difference with my confidence on properly setting the Z origin. The old cheap plastic puck with the connector barely staying in place always worried me a little.

@andrewl, Thanks Andrew, Hopefully the cord was long enough for you to reach, and I hope over time it might elongate / stretch a little more. Also I wish I had the skills to flatten this old aluminum puck, but I don’t have metal shop chops nor authorization, and I didn’t want to just take a metal file to it to rudely flatten its teenage-like crash-induced pimples.

Resurfacing one or both sides is a nearly trivial mill job, if that is desired.

yes, yes, yes, it is desired
