I have not taken a laser class so maybe this is something that could be answered there.
I have a material called Whatman 903 which is made of cellulose. It is about .25mm thick and more or less feels like flimsy cardstock.
I was wondering if there was a list of approved or unapproved materials that could be used for the lasers, I don’t want to create any hazards. I am looking at making a bunch of small 6mm circles with this material.
Sorry I am a former member, forgot that the wiki exists. Though after running through it I still feel like I don’t know for sure. This material could be considered a paper, but idk.
Whatman filter card should be fine. Unsure about what particulate it will product/kick up while doing so, so if you’re using them for something that contaminates could negatively affect I’d caution against it
You can always do a Beilstein test (copper wire test) to be sure it’s safe from a chlorine gas standpoint. Just need an open flame and copper wire.
