Introducing Jenn! :mario_star:

The City of Austin Elevate grant we received this year to support additional educational programming also allowed us to bring back the Media & Marketing Coordinator role. I’m thrilled to introduce our newest member of staff joining us to fill this role — Jenn Xia! :yay:

@jennxia has several years of nonprofit marketing experience creating the brand identity and marketing strategy for Asian Family Support Services of Austin, as well as running all their communication platforms. Her creative spirit, kind demeanor, and thoughtful design feedback during the interview process were very impressive and I’m looking forward to seeing her aspirations come to life at Asmbly. She loves being creative through writing and drawing, and does more traditional art with color pencil and pen @frommypantrypress but is excited to learn more skills and tools at Asmbly! She’s especially excited to do more features on the #1 best aspect of Asmbly — YOU! Storytelling about members and their projects at Asmbly is something Jenn is passionate about and eager to incorporate more of in our marketing efforts.

Jenn has a very down-to-earth, approachable demeanor that can bring out a smile in anyone. Expect to see her friendly face around the space asking if you’d be willing to be in photos/videos and giving you the chance to veto content that you don’t like (fun story — Jenn vetoed one of her headshot photos that she said, “looks like I’m trying to hold in a fart”).

@OctopusDream left some big shoes for this role as our first MMC, but I’m certain Jenn will pick up where he left off and keep building from there :flexed_biceps: Please join me in welcoming Jenn! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
