I just built an OpenScan 3D Scanner for Minatures

Hey Bryan,

Here’s a miniature I’ve had since I was 5 years old. His name is Gene Autry. Most of the damage is from my dog at the time. Many a good cowboy, Indian and soldier were dealt a worse fate than this. Oh the carnage.

Is Gene Autry suitable for scanning?

Of the small army style figures I’ve ever seen, that is one of the best!

@tomthm, Absolutely, please bring it with you next Saturday at 9-11 AM and if time permits let’s give it a try scanning it and creating a mesh that you can later 3D print if you’re interested.

Thanks for the reply. Turns out I’m up in Denton longer than I expected, so won’t be able to make it tomorrow. I’m looking forward to hearing about the demo.

I have remainders from an equally good set of civil war soldiers. Same material, which my dog, Pudgy, really loved to chew on.

@tomthm, I’m so sorry to hear you’ll be unable to attend. Let’s plan another time when we can get together at ASMBLY. I’d be happy if it is just you and I where we can try scanning one or more of your Pudgy chew toys - ha! Bri
