I hacked together a center-console boat out of junkyard parts and random bits

a couple weeks ago I posted in the metal shop section (Trolling Motor Steering Assembly (was: Bending a flat metal bar up against a curve) - #12 by 0xKruzr) about trying to figure out how to get a trolling motor to steer via wheel instead of tiller. I ended up settling on using the steering assembly from a dead gas motor to do it, just needed to fabricate a bracket for the motor to attach to, like so:
