If you are using the horizontal bandsaw in the metal shop, make certain your piece is tightly clamped within the vise and double check that the vise will not slide open if moderately forced. The half nut has been a bit temperamental and can release if not fully clamped. If the vise gives way, your piece and the blade may be damaged.
