im looking for thin (3,4,5,6 mm) sheets with “nice” walnut, oak, mahogany, cherry, etc. veneers
before i go spending a lot of time calling every shop in town, a better use of my time would probably ask if anyone here knows any good spots first
Dakota is a good bet. They specialize in cabinetry plywood, hardwood and hardware. Fine has stuff, as does Brazos, but I would go to Dakota for plywood.
I still have never been to Dakota, but I’ve shopped Fine’s veneer stash quite a bit and like their selection. If their location and hours are convenient for you, it’s worth stopping in and looking through their stash.
