I cut apart an addressable led strip. They are spaced as they are because those are two inch square cells and the leds need to be solidly in the center. The cells will become important as i continue to build it out. The spacing isnt perfect but it’s pretty accurate and good enough.
I guess there are other options but i had ws2812b leds on hand and they fit the bill nicely.
Yeah I meant there are strips of 30/m ws2812bs which is 1.3 in spacing between each led but if 2" is important then good luck with the soldering! I’ve been there and its rough lol. The other option could be to use bullet style 2812bs which is what I use for my work. Saves a lot of soldering, but adds height to the project which is avoided by using strips.
