Glaze Shelf Update
House dip glazes, commercial glazes and specialty glazes are fired together at cone 5 medium speed. The designations on the slip are to help kiln operators place these glazes safely in the kiln in regard to their different natures and behaviors.
Stoneware and some other glazes require a Cone 6 to reach their chip color. There is an optional shelf available if you want this finish. This shelf will be fired when there is enough work to fill at least the small kiln.
Jungle Gem and a large number of effect glazes reach maximum effect at a low-fire cone04. Also fired when we can fill at least the small kiln.
Porcelain finishes and High Fire cone 10 glazes can only be fired in the large kiln. Expect this to be a slower turn around unless you commit to enough work to fill the kiln.
We are happy to do specialty fires that require specific programming and temperature control. We simply ask that you bring enough work to fill the small kiln.
