Hey guys👋 I’m new to the space, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. I’m attempting to get the cleanest and most beautiful impression of a logo onto these clothing hangers. The flat surface seems pretty straightforward, but the curved part on the top of the shoulders for just the symbol seems more difficult. Any ideas of getting the best results for this?
Send a pic, you might have to comment on a couple of other post before it allows you to post pictures fyi
I was wondering why it wouldn’t let me add any images. Thanks for the heads up!
Yeah I’m getting a “An error occured: Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post.”
I think to get to trust level 1 you need to:

What is the material of the hangers?
I believe it’s an eco-friendly bamboo.
Finally able to upload images! Yay
Perhaps a portable laser would be a good option? Lasers in general aren’t great at marking on curved surfaces, but perhaps that’s a small enough curve that it would work fine? You could make a jig to line it up. Other than that, maybe a laser cut stencil that you could paint over? May have to modify the logo slightly to add a support for the centers of the circles.
Not sure how easy mass production would be, depends how many you need to make
I would just make a jig and engrave it as flat as possible.
I was thinking that, but thought it would be a bit difficult to rotate as it’s not a straight rod either, not to mention fitting a coat hanger into the rotary
Thanks for the quick response. Yeah Sid mentioned that one of the laser machines has an attachment maybe that allows it to rotate for curved surfaces. She said that I should talk to Jordan I believe too. I think Jordan might’ve been at the space last night, but she was in the middle of a class.
Sounds like I might need to use a rotary and create a jig somehow. Probably should begin with taking a course that could explain these things further.
Should I use Blue or Pearl for this task?
The rotary will not work for you. You can make some kind of holder or bracing to hold the hanger parallel to the laser beam and proceed that way. You could stack a bunch together and do them at the same time. The curve is not enough to throw the beam that much out of focus.
You could carve a flat ‘label’ area first, and then burn or carve your logo into that.
The Shaper or CNC would be good for this.
oooh a brass brand!
Possible to say more?
Unclear who you are responding to, but in either case, etch onto something flat, either a small piece of brass, which you could then press to shape, or a flat space carved out of the hanger.
Thanks. I’m completely new to this, so if you could say it even more clearly (like I’m 5 years old:) it would really help. Haha. Are you saying not to use a laser, and just cut out a piece of brass and somehow keep it hot and use it as a stamp maybe?
