Free large format inkjet printer

This large format printer in the classroom is up for grabs. We have a second one in the lounge we are keeping, but this one is set to go. It is a HP DesignJet 1055CM.

For all it’s quirks, this is a WONDERFUL large format printer. For anyone who decides to grab it, please be aware this thing does love expensive ink, and needs tlc to operate. It does have its temperamental moments.

There is a company in Wells Branch that services these HP large format printers, and they do carry the ink, printheads, ink absorber pads, paper, etc … and can service it. Not cheap, but they know their stuff.

Thanks for adding these details @martinbogo! I knew there were some high costs of use, but wasn’t sure the details. Definitely helps to have all this info laid out!

Hey @kingkeyan, are you still planning to take this printer?

Sorry! The designer friend I thought wanted it decided against it.

I won’t be taking it :frowning:

No worries! I’ll add it to the list of items to haul away to donate somewhere.
