Thanks to @EricP @Allzman @sneezix @LivingOnTheEdgeKupec after several months of construction and taking up woodshop storage space, our Little Free Food Pantry project should finally be ready for installation this Thursday!
The pantry will be placed in the Forest Bluff area of Far East Austin and serve the surrounding Hornsby Bend nighborhoods, this area is in a food-desert with many low-income residents. We’d love to stock it before it leaves ASMBLY and stops being the Woodshop’s most charitable storage project.
If you’re cleaning out your pantry or making an HEB run before noon on Thursday 6/4, we’re asking for donations of non-perishable food items, but please make sure all items are unopened, in their original packaging, and not expired.
Whether you bring a single can or a whole grocery bag, your donation will help ensure the pantry is ready to serve our Austin neighbors from day one. Donations can be dropped off at ASMBLY in the Far East ATX Little Free Food Pantry near the back of the woodshop. Thanks for helping turn a pile of lumber into something that will make a real difference in the community.
