First tele build

My son and I just finished our first guitar build… sharing a pic since some people at Asmbly had said they’d love to see the finished project. Just about all of it was done with Asmbly equipment… in particular the CNC machines. Special thanks to @CLeininger for help with dialing in my 2-sided cutting technique - made the job sane.

Now that we’ve done a telecaster - going to try an original design.

This looks amazing!

Nice job. Which pickups did you choose?
Edit: did you cut neck too?

Thanks!

Those are fender “vintage” noiseless single coils. I like them - but they’re almost disturbingly “clean” after years of electric buzz on the guitar i’ve played for 30 years

We did cut the neck. Maple back, rosewood fretboard. Stewmac truss rod. I would like to say it went smoothly - but we failed about 3 times on the maple part.

Cut the fret grooves on the cnc with a needle sized endmill…. And that part was surprisingly easy and lined up well for intonation

That came out great! Nicely done.

I’ll be cutting a customized Tele body for a client sometime this week. Fingers crossed it looks as good as yours.

I may hit you up when I start cutting necks, hopefully in the near future.
