Finally, after much hemming and hawing, I finally cut my first CNC project. I am so appreciative that I have access to this tool.
I’m making a sculpture where I’m setting many rows of beads on wires, set 10 mm apart. I needed to make the outer frame that these wires will anchor into. Lots of skinny pieces, and LOTS of drilled holes.
Could I have done this with the table saw and the drill press? Yes. Would anything be square? No…no it would not.
I used the painters tape trick because some of the final pieces were very long and skinny, and I wanted to minimize the possibility that they would shift at all. It worked a charm
Also - remember to re-zero the z-axis with bit changes! ![]()
