We will have the CNC SIG this Sunday at 12:30 pm at Asmbly in the Multipurpose Room. The theme is “I don’t know what love is, but I’m learning.”
Hearts, curves, inlays, boxes, gifts, chaos, whatever love means to you or your CNC.
Bring an idea, a half-finished project, or just yourself. We’ll figure it out together.
I also want to share an update regarding meeting recordings.
For the past couple of years, CNC SIG meetings have been recorded and shared so members could revisit material or catch up if they were unable to attend live. At our last meeting, many people again shared that they find recordings helpful, and I agree.
After asking whether we could continue sharing recordings, I was informed that under Asmbly’s current policy, SIG meetings may be recorded only for the purpose of generating internal notes or summaries, and that full recordings are not to be shared publicly. Because our meetings are hosted through Asmbly’s Zoom account, this policy applies to the CNC SIG.
As a result, recordings of CNC SIG meetings will no longer be shared going forward.
I know this is disappointing for some members, especially those who have relied on recordings in the past. If you feel strongly about this and would like the policy to be reconsidered, you are welcome to share your perspective directly with Asmbly leadership or the board at board@asmbly.org.
Regardless, I’ll continue doing my best to make the live meetings worthwhile and to share useful takeaways, links, and summaries afterward when possible.
