Experiment in simulating stained glass

I started with 1/4 inch Baltic birch and cut the design with tarkin. Sanded to remove the few burns and finished with tongue oil. I then used colored uv resin to fill in the voids. It was all an experiment.

Ooh! I like this idea! I have plans to make a door, and was asking a friend about doing stained glass for it. She didn’t think that it would work, but this might.

This turned out awesome!

I’ve played around with this idea before and been largely unsuccessful. Do you have any tips on the UV resin? I’m not sure if it’s the cheap JoAnn’s (:headstone:) one I got or something else I’m doing wrong, but I always get bubbles forming while curing it with the UV light.

Thank you for your kind words. It was the first time that I tried. I used JDiction colored UV resin from Amazon, so I didn’t have to mix it and possibly introduce bubbles. Other than running a lighter over it before curing, I did nothing else.

Thank you, I’ll give that brand a try!

I have some that I would be happy to give to you. I can leave it on the shelf tonight. Not enough to do a whole project, but certainly enough to test

That would be awesome! I will be up there tonight working with @torchedguitar on the AV setup for the Maker Showcase tomorrow

There are twocolors on the L&F shelf in a Ziploc
