My adult nephew wants to get a beginners 3D printer. He’s done research and landed on a Creality Ender 3 or an Elegoo Neptune 4. He knows I’m a member of a MakerSpace, but didn’t know that I know zilch about 3D printing. Does anyone know anything about these 2, or have another recommendation for an entry level printer.
As a reconsidered the names he threw at me, it occurred to me that he might be trolling me. Ha!
An Ender 3 is a fantastic choice with a massive community for mods and upgrades when the time comes. That’s the clear choice.

Of those two the Ender 3 is definitely the better choice. I have experience with an Ender 3 V2 and Ender 3 S1. Both are beginner friendly but have a low ceiling for modification / performance.
