DC Filter Maintenance Day Today 3/31

Given the unfortunate event of the DC being down, I’m going to take out all the filters and clean them out and take a moment to really poke around the guts of this thing.

If you’d like to come check it out, please do! Bring a dust mask. (PS, I’m starting now and it might go for a few hours).

After about 5 weeks:

Folks have gone up about every 7-10 days to poke the filters and knock some of the dust off. There’s 5 rows of filters and 23 total filters (5,4,5,4,5). The middle row seems to be the one that attracts the most dust, or got cleaned the least. After taking out the first three rows, the back two didn’t look so bad, however they are not going to be easy to get out. To take a filter out, they must be twisted off.

We took all the filters off that we could and took them outside for cleaning.

This is a great workday task for at least 2-4 people. PPE required: Dust mask. Eye protection is a good idea and hearing protection if you’re using the vacuum or air blaster.

I’ll post a video shortly of the easiest way to clean the bulk off which allows a much faster air dusting process.
