Pictured below is about 3/4 inch dado stack in the saw stop. The problem that the arbor nut is only partially engaged. I would estimate about three threads are being used. Not nearly enough to make me confident in its security.
The documentation says that the arbor can support a 13/16th dado.
What’s the trick?
I am curious about this too. I’d suggested the dado stack to Austin, only to be stumped when he pointed out the problem. I assume there is another nut without the thick washer-like segment somewhere.
The thick washer is not used once the dado stack thickness exceeds the usable nut threads. In other words, do not use the washer when the dado stack reaches that thickness.

Is there a thinner washer or you just skip the washer all together?
I referred to the “washer-like segment” for a reason: the nut and washer are a single piece. Hence my assumption that there must be a more appropriate nut elsewhere.
