Hi!
I’ve got some cork sheets I need to cut out for paper weights. Is this something the vinyl cutter can do? Or is there a better solution?
thanks!

The large vinyl cutter is probably no help - I think it would bend and flex the cork too much and destroy it.
The cricut may be able to do it depending on thickness, but the material is not on the supported material list. It says it will do 2.4mm balsa wood! https://help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009504773-Which-materials-can-I-cut-with-my-Cricut-smart-cutting-machine
Best option is probably a laser!
A drag knife on the CNCs might also work.
Thanks I will check it out!
I’ll check out the cricut, thought the laser would set it on fire
I have a drag knife. How thick is your cork sheets?
I’ve cut cork on lasers with no problem. The main thing with that is whether you care what the edges look like. They will be burned with the laser, in the blackened direction for cork. The cricut (which is a small scale CNC drag knife) will give you clean edges, so long as the blade is sharp and able to cut the material effectively.
Update:
Cricut for the win! After a lot of trial and error I had success on the heavy card stock setting.
Of note, the cork from Micheals tore up quickly, maybe the blade was dull. It cut well this cork fabric, I got, much thinner but stronger with a thin weave backing: Amazon.com
thanks Y’all!
Thanks for reporting back and for linking your material! I LOVE that cork with hints of gold in the background and will be bookmarking this listing. I have a little business card holder made by one of our members (@Sarah) that used that material. It’s one of my favorites. Also sublimates well I believe.
