Cut Polystyrene (XPS) Rigid Foam Insulation?

Can I cut those pink polystyrene (XPS) rigid foam insulation sheet on the large CNC? Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise me on this.

I have done it. The static cling is not fun. Also hold downs are a little tricky. I would get a really thick card stock to act as a washer for your screw holddowns.

Do you think laser cutting it would be better? Thanks so much the tip on the hold downs.

I was able to get good results. I have a tiny bit of tearing on some edges. Make sure you have good sharp bit

It causes problems with dust collection. It is so light it does not cyclone separate as effectively, and the cyclone can even re-entrain foam particles that previously separated into the can.
Then it ends up in the bag which is harder to change.

It may be dicey to laser. It can melt. The beam dynamics are different in foam, and I think we may have trouble with material thicker than maybe 1/2"? Not sure.
