CNC plates

Hi all - has anyone made charging plates similar to the picture on the CNC ? Wood something like this require 2 tool paths with different bits ?

Hard to tell from the photo. If everything you need to cut is flat or perpendicular, then you could just use one bit. However, don’t be afraid of using multiple bits if you need to. For this bowl, I used a bowl and tray bit for the pocket, and a spiral upcut to cut it out.

Wasn’t sure what was meant by this.
Are you placing wireless chargers beneath?
If they’re plates with a pocket and narrow base
then it’s a two-sided milling challenge.

Can you describe this with more detail?

The name got me at first as well. They are plates that people use to put under dinner plates . A charger plate in a dinner setting is a large, decorative plate placed underneath the dinner plate, primarily used to catch spills and crumbs, protect the tablecloth, and enhance the visual appeal of a table setting, especially in formal dining situations; food is not served directly on a charger plate.

You are far more of a food connoisseur than I!

Eagle america has a rather unusual cnc bits for carving here are some options for your edges. Do the edge then flatten with a different bit

Yes two bits will be the most efficient way to make them. I’ve gotten a ton of use from this bowl and tray bit over the years for all kinds of projects.
