CNC Dust Shoe loose on both the top and bottom mounts?

Continuing the discussion from CNC Dust Shoe Replacement:

I know we’ve already had some threads about the new dust shoe system, but I don’t remember seeing discussion of this particular issue that bit me on my last job… The general system is nice and seems very effective at collecting dust, but the mounts aren’t consistently strong enough. Close/deep cuts can cause too much friction and eventually drag the show off the spindle. And when I compensated for that by opting to cut a quick job without the shoe attached, it almost fell off the top mount (see image – I was test-jiggling it at the time).

I realize that maybe there are some “just right” ways of getting it to click in securely, but I couldn’t figure that out at the time. Has anyone looked into a more positive latching system or something?
